The site, previously occupied by a mid-1960s Fruit and Vegetable market, became available following the market’s relocation to the city outskirts, located in a central urban precinct and contiguous to obsolete industrial structures, the multi-acre parcel was designated by the City Government for redevelopment as a Public Park.

The design strategy organizes the Park as a sequence of programmatic zones aligned along primary axial walkways and articulated through key visual landmarks, program components include: an entry green functioning as the arrival zone; a central water feature; a wooded ecological zone; a perimeter jogging track; a xeriscape garden emphasizing low-water plantings; a multi-functional courtyard; a constructed waterfall; a children’s play area; a botanical collection; a seasonal display garden; and a gender-specific recreational space for women, the spatial hierarchy, circulation logic, and landscape typologies collectively establish a cohesive and legible public environment.
